Usher & Young Jeezy’s Love In This Club is this week’s top mp3 download on iTunes Store. After being away in the music scene for a while, Usher’s comeback proved to be yet another blockbuster as new Usher-ish male artists have emerged to steel the audience he has already captured.
When asked about Chris Brown’s style, Usher just said that “it’s a good thing for the industry”. He further made a comment that Chris Brown’s style is pretty much like his during his early years in the biz. That’s almost like saying “Chris Brown is an Ushser copy cat”.
Anyhow, the second spot goes to Jeff Buckley with a cover version of the song called Hallelujah. Pop songs never used to be this lengthy, but it’s worth the listen. Download the mp3 widget here.
Actually this song never really came into the mainstream until American Idol finalist Jason Castro sang this the night before he got booted out. Jeff Buckley was the son of the musician Tim Buckley. At the age of 30, Jeff ended his seven year career as a performer after he accidentally got drowned in an evening swim. On May 29, fans will commemorate his 10th death anniversary.
Hallelujah is often called Buckley’s best since this is the artist’s most popular record. Time magazine calls it “One of the Greatest Songs” and Rolling Stones ranks it number 259 one its Top 500 Greatest Songs list.
This week, Leona’s Bleeding Love steps down 2 notches landing at number 3. Sara Bareilles still clings onto the top 4 with Love Song. Whilst Jordin and Chris stayed at number 5 with No Air.
