A Good Script for An Optical Radio Ad Commercial

One of the most annoying ads I get to hear and produce even myself are ads for Vintage Vision International, a chain of optical clinics. Radio stations from Visayas and Mindanao are more familiar with this. More often than not, the client would provide the script. But can they think of another?
Here’s a cool radio ad script from RAB designed for I-Care Optical. Hope you can draw inspiration from the script. Here it goes
“IN THIS WORLD, THE “”I’S”" HAVE IT… (OPERATIC SINGER- I LOVE YOU TRULY, TRULY I DO. LOOK INTO MY EYES…) (COUNTRY TWANG- I NEVER PROMISED YOU A ROSE-COLORED GARDEN…,) AND THAT INCLUDES I-CARE OPTICAL…I-CARE HAS EYEGLASSES, CONTACT LENSES, SUNGLASSES EVEN THOSE NEW EUROPEAN FRAMES TO GIVE YOU THE EYE-CATCHING LOOK. I-CARE HAS YOUR EYES COVERED.(DISCO SINGER: “THAT’S THE WAY..UH-HUH,I THINK I LIKE IT…) SEEING IS BELIEVING. SO, WHO WANTS I-CARE? (group of people: I DO, I DO.) I-CARE OPTICAL IN THE MICRONESIA MALL. ALL VISION INSURANCE ACCEPTED.”

here’s mine
original script is in Waray ( Language spoken in Eastern Visayas Philippines)
(Rough Translation)
EFX: Establish downtown, cars passing, people etc.)
EFX: Two people walking.
Guy1: Hey man please don’t walk fast, wait for me. You know you have trouble seeing..
Guy2: No I don’t..
Guy1: Really now.. can you read that sign?
Guy2: Nah.. Berr.., thta’s just too far too see..
Guy1: Aha.. So why do you say hello to people you don’t know and ignore the people you know..
Guy2: That usually happens when its dark, you really can’t see the faces!
Guy1: So why do you usually fall on the stairs when it’s dusk..
Guy2: C’mon, they polish the stairs in the office too much, It has become too slippery..
EFX:.. 1 second gap in the conversation
Guy1: Are you sure you can see..
Guy2: (Sarcastic/Agitated) Yes I can!
Guy1: Hey there’s a…
Guy2: (Exasperated)I can see, I can see!….
EFX: Car Hitting Something
Guy1: ( No expression) …. car
About time you see, Acebedo Optical at Rizal Ave, Tacloban
This ad run for a good 3 month period in our station IFM Tacloban. In Waray it’s absolutely cool and hilarious..
